My 12 year old is in 7th grade and is bringing home Algebra problems and wants help. OK, I remember alot of procedures to solve problems in Algebra. To bad the procedures I remember do not apply to the problems he is bringing home. Really, I dont remember anything. I am having to re learn and learn the new procedures in solving Algebra. Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted December 2, 2015 Hash Fellow Share Posted December 2, 2015 I've looked at some of the new math and it's not like it's insane but it seems like they've made confusing changes to the process that have no benefit. When i was growing up I gave up asking my parents for homework help. Between my mom who couldn't help because she knew nothing about it and my dad who couldn't help because he knew everything about it... it was basically hopeless. All he as to do is study the answers so he can pass the tests. Schools don't really teach any critical thinking but rather teach how to copy/paste and take tests.
