Every once in awhile I think of putting together some sort of flame generation setup to achieve artist-friendly stylistic flames.

Here's the result of a test inspired by something Kazagruma (Junya) posted online.

It is a two-dimensional interesting flame.
Thanks Rodney.

I have forgotten the existence of "A: M" for a long time.
I remember again the fun of creation again.

Thanks!

It's 3D shapes but I had to work to get that stylistic 2D look.  ;)

Aside:  There are some effects that need to be revisited in A:M that couldn't quite be created completely in A:M in earlier versions.

For example, this flame makes use of the GPU Blur post effect which gives us dramatically increased ability to blur over prior releases without that feature.

The old Blur Post Effect had to be applied multiple times/instances at 100% to even approach such a blur.

Nice Tinkering

High praise for the Master Tinkering Gnome himself!  :)

If I get this (and many other) explorations to a point where they might be useful to someone else I'll post a project file.

With this one there are several splinter ideas that might go hand in hand with each other.

In a perfect world we might put together a 'flame kit' of sort to capture some of the various styles.

In many cases, compositing a sequence of actual flames (from a video source) would produce better results but where a more artistic stylization is required...

I updated the last to add a bit of blue flame at the bottom but it wasn't much of an improvement over what I posted above.
