A:M Beginner-Tutorial Modelling (with v17)

Recommended Posts

Hi!

so here it is: Another beginner Tutorial for A:M... ;)

PatchWork3d: Beginner Tutorial

It is quite large (mp4, about 50 min. 1024px * 604px resolution).

Filesize is about 160 MB, but I think it is worth it for a beginner!

Let me know what you think.

I am covering different things like:

- user interface

- basic spline / patch principles

- some comon questions like: how to connect a shape to an arm > explaining when to use which patches, etc.

- what are and when to use hooks

- the advantages and disadvantages of peaked vs smooth splines

- hooks, lathe, extrusion, copy/flip/attach, a little bit about normals

- many many helpful little tipps concering keyboard shortcuts, good practice, etc.

And finally we are modelling a spoon in A:M.

Hope it will help you to get started with A:M's way of modelling in a better way.

See you

*Fuchur*

PS: It is not my mother tongue so: Please be patient with me ;)

Fuchur----( I wrote this in other spot )--but its awesome !!!

Its really one of the best introductions to AM modeling I have seen . And its must watching for everyone new or everyone struggling with modeling. I have been one to struggle with modeling and have to say there were a couple of things you explained that has me re-excited to practice ---so thanks so much for your efforts.

I tried to download the file but the full version would not arrive. I got a small zip instead at about 30K rather than the 150Mb you mention. Is it still available and, if so, where can I find it?

Hi Simon,

I just recently (actually today) got my new webdesign up and running.

You can watch this video-tutorial now online at:

PW3d: Basics of patch modelling

(the link in the first post has been updated too)

See you

Gerald

Thank you very much for that.

Is it still possible to download the file? I anticipate that I may have to watch it several times.

regards

simon

Ps

Thank you.

I learnt a lot I didn't know, especially about the use of bias handles.
