Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted February 9, 2015 Hash Fellow Share Posted February 9, 2015 For the hand I would first say study the hands on a simpler stock character like Shaggy, I think he has pretty basic hands. On copy flip attach... have you seen my Copy Flip Attach Basics video? That may have answers.

Dpendleton77
I have a question how can I get my right arm and right leg to move independently from from my left arm and right leg? Here is a what I am talking about. Here is an embedded project for you kind folks. I have another question how can I add color to the old chap? Thank you. sack.mov flour_sack_05.prj
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted February 11, 2015 Hash Fellow Share Posted February 11, 2015 In your model you have "Left Arm" as a child of "Right Arm" In the PWS, drag it onto "Torso" to make it a child of that bone rather than the Right Arm/
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted February 11, 2015 Hash Fellow Share Posted February 11, 2015 I believe both Right Arm and Left Arm should be children of Torso. Drag them both onto Torso. And I'm guessing that Torso and Pelvis should be children of "Root"?
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted February 11, 2015 Hash Fellow Share Posted February 11, 2015 In the properties for Right Leg, turn Lock IK ON

Dpendleton77
I did all of that an it was still wonky. I might have to readjust some splines.
Dpendleton77
Do I really need the control point at the bottom of this fellow?? flour.mov
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted February 12, 2015 Hash Fellow Share Posted February 12, 2015 The basic problem is you don't have the hierarchy right. Notice how making the leg bones children of the Pelvis bone made them work right? Now do the same thing to make the pelvis a child of the Root Null. And make the torso bone a child of the Root Null also. I will almost guarantee you there is a screen shot or some text in that book that puts that across. The bone at the bottom, I'm not sure of the purpose, I haven't read the book in a long time.

Admin Rodney Posted February 12, 2015 Admin Share Posted February 12, 2015 That's progress! I don't recall if David's book recommends having toe/feet bones (in addition to the basic legs you are showing) but that can certainly help with finer control of the flour sack's performances. Aside: Getting those hypercam recordings going is a great move that will serve you well. It's so much easier to see what someone is experiencing. And not only that... it provides a great source for documenting your progress. Keep those and someday you (or those interested in your work) will look back on them fondly and marvel at the process. Dpendleton77
From what I have seen in the book it does not call for that. I was just doing the sack between doing the Tao stuff.
