Fond Memories

Just wanted to say there will always be a warm spot in my heart for "Duck Sauce". This is the film on which I learned to do head nods.

Hi, Mom!

I'm submitting Duck Sauce (and two other films) to the Hi, Mom! Film Fest, which shows in June in North Carolina. I think this is right up their alley, so I'm optimistic. Here's the blurb I wrote for them:
Can a photographer who just happens to be a rubber duck solve a murder and win the love of a pink flamingo?

Duck Sauce was created for the 48 Hour Film Project, Washington, D.C., in May 2004. The entire film, script to screen, had to be created in 48 hours (we missed the deadline by a few hours, but hey). To keep us honest, we were given a genre, a prop, a character, and a line of dialogue which had to be incorporated into the film. See if you can guess what they were before the credits roll. Duck Sauce premiered at the American Film Institute's Silver Theater in Silver Spring, Maryland to much applause and laughter. This version has been re-rendered and slightly revised.

troubling indicator

A Professor at UNT who taught the Filmmaking 101 class and a Film Criticism class I was in had been following the Animation Showdown entries I post on my web site.

So about two months ago I sent her the link to "Duck Sauce" to get her reaction.

And she was never heard from again.

(I'm still proud of it, none-the-less)

Hmmm...

Looks like the PIAF has finally updated its web pages. Sort of. We didn't win anything, alas.

Now with less carbs!

Nicktoons says we can include a three-minute-or-less video blurb about our short, so I threw one together, and I thought y'all might want to see it.

1:50, 6.5 MB, Sorenson 2

Sorry about the bad geography joke. I don't have anything against Texas... really.

Director's Cut on AMFilms.

Tell your friends, tell your enemas...

Lonely...

I sent an entry off to the Funny Film Festival yesterday, and the next submission is to Nicktoons (yow!). Get ready for those rejection slips.

Still waiting on the results of the PIAF, not to mention the appearance of Duck Sauce: The Director's Cut on A:M Films.

Special pleading.

OK--in accordance with the end of the Director's Cut, I need to register www.ducksaucemovie.com. Then I just need to create a web site. Unless someone would like to donate their time... hint hint... to do so?

After all, ANYONE has better web design skills than me. ("Argh! This web page is making my graphic designer father turn in his grave!" "Zach, your father is alive." "This will kill him!")

Let me know. All it needs is contact information, really.
