zero is too small. The four sided patch gets confused if one side is 0 in length.

Very nice way to do it Robert!

And you can even close the inside-holes quite easily by just using the shift-key and doing some 3 and 4-pointers... it will not be noticeable in those flat areas.

Aah. Hadn't thought about the polys touching the circle, I was thinking about (and focusing on) the inside of the circle. I did not notice any hole in the surface of the pentagon when I first saw you spinning it around, but I suppose it is still there.
