Animtion Master Beta installers:

Windows 32bit
Windows 64bit
Mac Installer

If you have a v15.0 CD you can install and run V16.0 just like V15.0. If you have a subscription you will need to copy your current 'master0.lic' file to your v16.0 folder.

Bug List
  • New mac netrender
There is now an app called "Netrender.app" in the A:M directory. Running this app will start the renderserver and with a little delay also two rendermessenger instances (websubscription/cd version is limited to 2 messenger instances) in the case A:M is not installed at the default place the app doesn't work. For this reason an apple script called "Netrender.scpt" has been added to the A:M directory where you can change the path and compile it again
  • New all
New plugin "Delete keys for multiple models" accessible only from choreography, delete all keyframes in the range from frame 1 to chor length for the (in the dialog) selected models
  • Mac netrender

Just a quick question here, when I run the Mac installer, it says that it's Animation Master V16 Alpha. Is it supposed to say that even though it's Beta 5?
Sum Square Stories
Is there a time limit (expiration date) on the betas?
John Bigboote
MAYBE this is the Alpha...?

Sum- the time limit would be your subscription expiry date.

when i bake a model, is there possible to have a good displacement mapping with a model with a bake texture?
Bump mapping work well with a bake texture but legacy bump is not good.

The rendering is different of the fast rendering with the displacement mapping

here a sample.

a baking with displacement mapping is good to use a model in a painting software for sculpting

I'm not sure I understand the question.

Baking converts materials to bitmap form, but baking won't convert displacement maps to a new mesh. Is that what you are asking?

What version was that test image done in? I'm getting reasonably good results from displacement maps in v16 now in progressive preview and multi-pass final render.

A hint for the mac users
If A:M won't start , look for a file called "chatdump.txt" in Your A:M installation directory and delete this file,
it have the false permissions (and should not be in the installation package) .
At this time I'm on rebuilding the macversion , which should solve this .
Avaible soon ....

I really hate "Packagemaker", what a crap of software .... mad.gif
Darkwing
Wow, that would be very nice to have a rebuilt version. Perhaps this might fix the instability issue of the Mac version? I dunno, if not I won't complain
Darkwing
Yeah....are we sure that the link is downloading the right AM here cause stuffs happening that I thought had been resolved, things like not being able to add/remove the toolbars and when it opens, it can't load any of the HXTs despite the fact they're all there. Oh and when I go to Options for things like rendering and modeling, none of the tabs will click and I can't close the window. If this sounds like stuff that is still the problem with the Beta, than I'll do a formal report, but I kinda remember somebody bringing something up about the toolbars for one of the older versions of V16 and it being resolved?

Nock on wood.
It seems most if not all of the group problems are back in working order. smile.gif

Rebuild, means recompile , nothing more .
Darkwing
Oh. Rebuilt sounded all fancy like smile.gif
Jason Simonds
The mac fix is up and can be re downloaded.

I use baking to work without the problem of UV (it is not so easy in AM). I can export my model (obj with the coordinate uv) and use a software of painting to do the displacement mapping. It work well.
Baking create a texture of color, diffuse.... and bump mapping, it create uv map for the model easy too.
I exporte the model in obj with this uv
After i can do my texture in zbrush of 3dcoat (color, specular, AO, displacement mapping).
after, if I choose bump mapping, the rendering is good. but if i chose displacement mapping, it's not good.
