Full Version: No Color On Model

The model opens correctly in v15j+ but in v16 all colors are completely gone,tried changing open GL, direct X didn't use any decals win xp sp3 any thoughts are apprerciated

you loading just a model or a project and are colors applied with material or set in model/groups

I tried loading just the model and the colors are applied in model groups not with material even just loading model alone no colors thanks for your help

Can you make simple model in v15 that does this when you load it in v16?

yes I extruded a circle colored 3 different groups and it worked ok thanks for the fast reply

Then there is something peculiar about your first model and not v16 in general. Can you post it?

Thank You John and Rob for your help after John mentioned material or color/groups I started thinking about the original color problem I had a reply from RUSTY from 2005 was actually what it turned out to be.

"If the eye belongs to a another group that has a color and that group is lower in the PWS, then that group's attributes (color) will overwrite the groups which are listed above it in the PWS."

I still don't know why the color was fine in 15j+ and gone in v16 beta 2 but after deleting some groups I didn't need and rearranging the color groups in the PWS hierarchy I was able to get the colors back. I like Rusty had been using v 14c for at least a couple years and just recently purchased v15.

Thanks so much RUSTY for taking the time way back when and everyone else who replied,The people in the AM forums are second to none as I believe so is the software,THANKS to Jason and Steffen I'm sure you guys are super,super busy and doing a great job.
Thanks to MARTIN the Hash's and the original crew for there dedication,my wife and I had the privledge of meeting them all a few years ago at the HASH BASH, in education I have had the privledge of trying all the BIG BUCK programs ,AM is the best buy for the buck bar none,V16 seems faster all the way around.Just about finished whe my newly upgraded computer looking forward to trying net render.HAPPY HOLIDAY TO EVERYONE !

Previous versions of A:M had some misbehavior in the way groups took precedence over one another. Some results may be different now but if you get something that genuinely seems wrong I'd be curious to see it.

I have experienced this in 16beta3 - lip color of lady is wrong

EDIT: just noticed that foot color on chicken boy is also wrong

EDIT2: also just noticed that initial/default constraints on pig model seems to behaving differently in 16 false alarm - it's an illusion, only the coloring/decaling/materialing is wrong

EDIT3: pig's sock color & vest/jacket sides & shirt are wrong too (boy, did I miss alot, as was only focusing on woman character !)
