Does anyone have/willing to donate/know if there is a squirrel model?
.....something I've been tossing around in my head involving that starship I've been slaving over.
Yes, yes, I know I could model one.
Thanks in advance!

There's a bunch of squirrel models over on TurboSquid but none for A:M. Too bad!

Hmmm... I'm guessing you could adapt a character such as Keekat to the task.
Or... Rabbit.

Toss up some rotos, this a characterized squirrel or a realistic one?

Woops... disregard the suggestion about Keekat and Rabbit.

Would need a good side, top and front images along with details on the feet. I can't seem to be able to find good pics to work from.
For textures I could use one of the squirrels on my street and scan them. They seem pretty flat and should match up to the model when that is flattened

Dude, that is sooo wrong.
I've actually been tying to hunt down rotos for a squirrel as well (along with rabbits, birds, deer, dog) for my short. The best I've come up with far are these..

Tough finding good images to work from, I'll give the model a shot if someone wants to rig it and fiddle with the hair. Thinking the TSM2 would be goon on this.
I like that character you drew, that would be fun to model

Here is the model so far, anything I need to do to correct it?
Still need to toss in the bones but think I will need to plant all four feet on the ground prior to rigging. The model I basic enough that it should be possible to make a mouse, rat and rabbit from the same mesh with some tweaking.
If you guys want to fiddle with the model let me know and I'll post the prj

Wow, you work fast. I'd like to try my usual "franken-modeling" on that and see if your model can easily be morphed into the toon style I'm looking for...great work!

Please post!
We like to fiddle with it.
Thank you very much...

Glad you guys like it.
Here is the base model to chop up, modify, squish etc as you like.
I'll still be working on this one but will take me some time to finish it off since my time gets eaten up with work so rather than have everyone breathing down my neck here is the model

I'd love to see what you guys come up with so please post pics, animations etc!

I just fiddled with the posing of the squirrel, added some teeth and tongue. This one should be easier to rig.
I can't get TSM2 to work under my new system install so if anyone does rig this I would love a copy of the file.

I have prepared the model for rigging with TSM2
If anyone likes to try and run the rigger and flipper and test it, please do.
I will find the time probably next week again....

I like the tweaks you did and textures on the lil bugger.
I'm attempting to rig this one from scratch and use the hair plug on it, bet you will have yours finished before mine hehe

Please ignore the model I posted above!
It lacks a bodybone and has diferrent other shortcomings.
Here I post , what I got so far:
St1 = bones installed and weights on right half,
St2 = after flipping and mirror bones
St3 = after rigger
it still doesn`t behave like I would like it to be.
Maybe somebody has some ideas and hints for a better bone-asignment.
