as much as I like AM i do not like the way it renders. i was wondering if a could transfer my model into poser7 which uses a renderer called firefly. firefly for me has done some excellent renders on my poser characters. maybe this type of render can be pulled off in AM with the right lights and background so i'll play around with it some more. but i still want to transfer my A:M character into poser in the mean time. Does anybody know how to do this?
ps on some of my renders from AM it places this yellow spot on some of the frames when i render stills and simple animations. does anybodt know how to fix this?
thanx hisako

Post one of your problem renders.

As far as I know, you can only export the mesh. Export the model as 3DS or OBJ.
If Poser will import DirectX models, you may be able to import simple bones too. Export from AM as "AMXtex DirectX Model".

try exporting obj. one poly per patch import into poser obj. top three boxes checked

That's funny, I actually junked Poser and Carrara and went to AM
AM is a hybrid renderer and defaults to phong but it does have a superb raytracer.
Post a sample of what your having trouble with.

Here is a basic chor I use to render many projects from. Make sure you do a save as so you don't destroy it.

I would post some of my problem renders but I trashed them all in the recycle bin which i dumped. i post one next time it happens.
thanx for the chor but i have one more question. When I went to export my A:M model, I didn't have an .obj option. I have AM2006. does that one not have an obj export function? all mine has is 3ds, Avatar .AV2 and Poly Model .PLY
could use some help on this one.

If you move the model in any direction and render again does the spot stay on the model or stay where it is?

the spot stays in the same place if I move the camera or the model
i'm confused on this and still trying to figure out the problem

so if you move the model off screen entirely the dot is still there? If you delete the model is the dot still there?

Is it lens flare or something?

i havent tried these two, but it only happens to me on random models and random renders. all of my renders today have been good, but the next time that happens i'll have to move the model or whatever. hutch says it might be a lens flare, i wondered that too, but i don't know where it could be coming from
still lost

Is 2006 version 15? If not then maybe it's worth upgrading, there is some really nice features in 15.
I have never seen that random patch of yellow on anything iv'e done but I started with version 15.

I've never seen a random yellow patch in any version of A:M and I've had it since v3.
There's something yellow in there or something sucking the blue out.
When you can post a test case that that does it, we'll know more.

if I upgrade can I upgrade for free since I already own 2006? or will I have to pay for it (i'm low on cash right now)?
how do I upgrade if I do, is that some where on the website?
thanx,
hisako

There's no "upgrade" price. A one-year license for the new version is $79, upgrade or not. Hash.com
But this is not a version problem. I used the same version you have and never had a yellow spot.
Post a test case that does this. I don't know any other way to say it.
