Maxon, makers of C4d offer a free benchmark utility to test your systems.

Giving mine a try and see if I get any puffs of smoke out of the back :0

Thanks for that.

I feel Roberts Bench Test is also a great tool for AM users. Basically anything under 10 minutes is really good on the PC.

139 Megs for a benchmark?

I'll be revising mine now that I know a bit more about rendering. Mine was heavy on ray-tracing which means it's heavy on ram access, which i'll try to minimize next time.

Whats Roberts Bench Test?

I tried Cinebench one on my i5 Laptop and got 19.91 fps for OpenGl and 2.03 pts for the CPU. These certainly do not compare well with the 4+ Core sample comparisons.....

Cheers

The cinebench installer immediately crashes on my PC, so end-of-the-road there.

It was a test scene with lots of CPU time-consuming stuff in it. I'll make another one, though.

The Cinebench test suite has become an industry standard for testing video cards and computers. If you look at reviews of computer systems, you will often find the results of Cinebench along with other benchmarks.

Where Robert's test suite is excellent for benchmarking A:M, Cinebench performs a lot more intensive tests on all aspects of the computer and graphics.

The question is, if you are after rendering with A:M or rendering with C4d...
If C4d is fast on your computer, that has not to be true for A:M rendering and visversa. A:M has a whole lot of other rendering-algorithms in it and other optimisations...

Of course it can be an indicater for a fast system, but while some computers may perform better on cinebench than others, that doesnt mean that the other computers are not faster with A:M.

See you
