Thank Yew.

The Funny thing is bandit was a great server, it was the hosting company(more like there tech.) that sucked. As for AM Stills, I have been working on that but i got a bit backed up. it's taking more work then I thought when i first looked into it. It has to with the integrated log in system. Which when i started I did not know much about. I also thought that the old server billing happened at the 29th not on the 23rd so all of the work had to be pushed up a week. If you are not logged in to the forums, you can still view A:M stills. but it should be working soon. I will post when that is done.

Thanks Again,
Jason Simonds

Thanks for getting the switch to happen so smoothly!

Does anyone know what a hosting company actually stores stuff on? Do they just keep plugging in more 1 TB drives every day or is there some other means for huge collections of data?

Is infrequently accessed data put in some secondary storage that is cheaper and slower?

I do not know on DATA center hosting, But th think for Vhosting i'm sue there is a list online.

I think in most Vhosting places that have machine that are set up to hold so many X level accounts. I'm not sure how they do file caching since if you have a Vhosting service you can not really see that level of stuff.

We lease a machine that is just like buying a computer. We pick the CPU, OS, Ram and HD space. We are at http://www.hivelocity.net/ smokey(holds svn and vintage A:MFilms) is still at http://www.theplanet.com/ we will be leaving them soon for a new server at http://www.hivelocity.net/

It's not that the planet is a bad hosting compnay, we had almost no down time on their end. But after the mix up with the update and them only giving us enough time to move te data off the old server if we wanted to fix it there. we had to go another way.
