Anyways, I'm gonna give the basic concept and whatnot, it's purpose and the first bit of draft 1 of the script. (It sucks BTW
)Anyways, what I am calling "Shadows" for the moment, is a mini-series for the web. The general premise is something like this:
Private Investigator Mark Edwards is contacted by a mysterious man by the name of Roger, to protect him from an attempted killer. What Edwards thought was a routine security job, turned out to be something more, far more. As attempts are made on Roger's life, Roger gives Mark Edwards a vile to protect, to protect with his own life if he must, as it is far more important than any one life. Roger is shortly after killed by an even more mysterious man, called The Shadow. Witnessing the murder of Roger, Edwards is confronted by The Shadow, who is the unique ability to appear and disappear. In the ensuing struggle, the vile is smashed, and the liquid seeps into Edwards' clothes. Edwards is cut up by The Shadow with a knife, and some of the liquid gets into his wounds. Edwards is then stabbed by The Shadow and is left to die. However, his body begins to heal and Edwards discovers that he now has the ability to control and use different kinds of energy, ranging from heat and fire, to electricity, to kinetic energy. Using his new found powers, Edwards hunts down the Shadow, and learns that the Shadow is more then just a single person, and that an attempt is being made to control the world through the use of a superhuman army.
The intention of this is to be a 3-4 month endeavour, with an episode being released 1-2 weeks (will be decided later) I'm figuring it'll be a 12-ish episode series, each episode being approximately half an hour. I may toy with the idea of subscription for this one, though i would need a fan base that is hyped to see the series for them to pay for it, so maybe donations or something. Anyways, this has a lot of little variables in it, the main one being a camera (as I am at a lack of a working one with suitable quality to film something like this). If this does go through, and does go into production, my goal is to simply write, direct and edit the series. There will most certainly be CG aspects to this series (you know, fireballs and lightning bolts and stuff) so I'd be looking here first for those kinds of people.
With this project, the goal is to have it set up in teams/departments, unlike ELZ where it's sort of like contract one guy to make a model, contract another guy to make another model, this would be more like someone leads the CG department, someone does FX etc. I will be putting a little bit of money into this one if it gets off the ground, but it would be in areas like costuming or things that we need that we don't have or can't make. So again, that means no one is getting payed, at least not yet, but if something like subscription does look like the way of the future for this project, people will get payed for their work (don't expect more then 25 cents a day though
)I've begun writing my first draft for Episode 1, but I'm already gonna re-write it as it is exceptionally horrible. What I was attempting to do with the timeline in the episode made no sense at all, so I think I'm going to go for a straight origin story type script for the Pilot and go from there. Once I have the first script written, the rest become much easier, but this one is still several drafts away!
For kicks, you can see what I got on my first draft, though I think I'll keep the opening scene, I kinda like it and it sets up a bit of a mood.
