Due to a rising concern of mine, I will be taking a break from ELZ. The length of the break will be determined by when/if my colleague is in a position to work on the project, because I am currently seeing that I am doing most of the work, he has done very very little yet he has title of director (when in fact I have been directing) and he ultimately gains the benefits of my work, without having done any. So, until he is able to start working on the project, I will not be. I am developing a project of my own to work on in the meantime. Now hopefully, it will only be the middle of March when my break ends, I would hate to see it be longer. This is not a cancellation of ELZ by any means, just a leave of absence of sorts.

Sorry to hear about this as the work was really shaping up! But I think everyone here will understand. I know we will all be happy to see either new work from you or ELZ revived.

yeah, it should only be a temporary hiatus until about mid-march, but on the other hand, my new project is looking kind of cool. It's only in its baby stages, but I got the itching to do some live action stuff, so I'm developing a superhero/detective type story

I say, good for you!
Oddly enough, this unequal work distribution is a problem in professional life too.
I had a co-worker who was progressively leaving more and more of his assigned tasks undone, expecting that I would just fill in the gaps for him. My mistake was to ever do any of it at all.
Other odd fact... his first name was a metal.

So I blame his parents for creating an inappropriate sense of entitlement in him

yeah, the world is filled with those that don't wish to do work, which I hope isn't the case here. But we will see.

Man I sympathize with you! I've been there, done that with a startup magazine I published some time ago. But I kept at it, and while sadly it left me dirt poor, it was a well received publication.
Keep plugging away at it, if it is meant to be, it will be.

Well--if you are going to do all of the work, just copyright it yourself and go solo! Is it your story?

well, I wrote the script for episode 1, but he came up with Earth-Link Zero itself, so it's his project/creation. I simply signed on to be the Producer about May 2009, he had started it in August 2008, it's on the Wikia page for ELZ. But I've done a lot to get ELZ on its feet, and not as just some vague idea in its creator's head!

And I have no intention of taking the project over. According to him he has to wait until mid march before he can have a laptop and AM, so that's why I'm waiting to mid march. He's written a few episodes and made some music, and a couple models, but that's about it right now.

Most creators aren't doers. They can imagine some grand scheme, but when it comes down to putting in the long nights, well, other things quickly become funner to do.
Do yourself a favor, be your own creator for a bit. If the project craps out, take it for the learning experience, re-use your models, and move on. The last thing you want to do is get yur tighty whities in a bunch over it, life's too short!

well, i typicaly only work on stuff that I come up with, like my new project, but ELZ appealed to me. And I would understand if he would say "throw my name in as creator and I'm content" but it's not like that. It's more like he wants to make a decision here and there and call it all his own. But, that's too many mean things to say about a person. I'm classifying him too early, we have till mid march.
