Imagine Ray Harryhausen doing "Huck Finn" and you might have "Journey to the Beginning of Time"

When I was about 8 this movie came to our town and the promos for it were all over the local kids shows and me and my friends HAD TO SEE IT.

It looks really creaky now, but it was one of the movie going experiences I remember most from childhood. At the time I didn't realize it was badly dubbed or that the boys at the beginning and end are barely passable doubles for the boys in the Czech original that makes up most of the footage. I didn't even notice the absurd hats. To me it was just the most amazing adventure movie ever.
