Hey guys, I have just ordered my first custom build pc today and Im pretty excited!
Im going with an i7 920 bloomfield and an Asus P6t6 ws revolution motherboard setup.
Gonna be built in a Cooler Master CM690 II case.
Im pretty excited to see what it can do with A:M and my other 3d apps (and some first person shooter games!)
Should be here in a couple days.
If there are any pc builders here I can share more about the components if interested.
So... if I ordered it thismorning, is there any chance I'll get the stuff today:) hahaha

What Graphic card are you using?
I have been reading that lot of the ATI Radeon are having fan problems, including mine.

Hey Ruscular, I was initially going to get an ati radeon card, but I already have a couple of them in my other machines.
So, I decided to go with a GeForce GTX 280 SuperClocked 1GB.
I did that so that I would have the option to explore some of the new GPU based rendering software that promise realtime rendering feedback... But you need to have a Cuda enabled nvidia card.

I feel surprised thatyour surprised! Im not trying to put together a system that would be good 3 years ago, so that means certain components are gonna cost a few bucks you know?

I am surprise, because for me the most expensive part of the computer for me has always been the CPU. But I don't play games, but I do many rendering and video coding. I do upgrade video card during the life of that computer when price fall. It doesn't seem easy to upgrade CPU when you have a MB at the time design for the memory speed and format. CPU become obsolete quicker than video card. Most video card have been backward compatible (such as this 2X/4X/8X) Whatever MB I get I will put in the fastest Memory for it, and it may mean just 4 gig at a time, until I get more later.

So when you upgrade, I'll await your sales of the old stuff. biggrin.gif
