So, I'm working on the colour scheme for the Spitfire, and have determined that it should be black and one other colour, though I'm having trouble deciding a good colour, our three runners up are:

I think the green looks more sinister
I like the green, too. Less cliche.

well, the ship was originally designed with green on it as it was to pay homage to the Submarine Spitfire, which was typically green in colour. I was just experimenting with colours and became indecisive in the matter, especially since I chose to go with black over grey. It is an attack frigate, intended for short range attack measures, but is of a new line in ship. the yellow is really sharp and makes it look like a wasp (my worst fear) the red is strong, and despite cool, does seem to look un-realistic, my only real beef with the green is that it looks kind of chalky, but perhaps some tweaking will resolve that

With all of the black, would the ship actually show up against a star field?

Is the colored section a very different substance than the black parts of the ship? The red and yellow like they are glowing.

they're not glowing, must just be the stark contrast that is giving the impression it is. I;ve gone with the green and continued working some more on the texturing and detail work. The black areas have their reflection qualities implemented, and I must say, V15 has much nicer reflection options then V13 did, I really like it. I seem to have misplaced my rendered pic of it, so I'll just wait till tomorrow and re-render it, but it's starting to look very shiny
