Most of the facial poses are implemented in Aiden now, and this shot shows off a few poses being used in conjunction with each other:

looks like he is not so happy

good job
Darkwing
yeah, it's sort of like one of those perspecitve pics, one where you can't tell if the object is going in or coming out, because sometimes i look at the pic and think he's looking nasty, then others I'l look and it seems almost comical, sort of like he's doing this disgruntled "huh?!?"
TheSpleen
Looks like he got kicked in his you know where.
LOL
Darkwing
yeah, tht too I suppose, those his eyebows would be higher and pointing up to the middle of his head laugh.gif

Here's the first official promo pic for ELZ!

Gerry
Wow, that's looking great!
Darkwing
thanks, i still can't believe that's pretty much my second character I've ever made, oh, and I'm now working on making the T-Shirt with him on it, should be cool!
Darkwing
so, i'm trying to work on a walk cycle, but something I've never gotten right is this whole stride length thing, the book seems sort of unclear on that and my character always slips a fair bit when walking, any pointers on walk cycles?
Darkwing
Here's some files that'll hopefully help

EDIT: I think I may have figured it out, but now I'm having some issues with bones that didn't have issues before!
Darkwing
Yep, I figured it out, when I do my action, i move the body null forward, which causes the sliding, here's a revamped version:

Couple of comments:

1. The human body stays almost completely level during a normal walk cycle. No up and down bob like you've got going there.

2. The bending action of the knees it too pronounced in your cycle

Check out Rob's short but informative thread: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showt...&hl=running

Yes, a bit too much bend on the legs. The front leg is typically nearly straight when the heel contacts the ground.

BTW there happen to be a series of videos on posing out a walk in my set of screencam tuts. Found in the link in my sig.
Darkwing
i'll check it out, i was just following the rabbit tut in TAOAM
Darkwing
wow, those are some incredibly well done tuts, TAOAM doesn't even cover a quarter about walk cycles, i'll be working on a new walk cycle now using Rob's vids
Darkwing
Here's an even better walk, i exaggerated it some so that I could see the poses, and I didn't add in all the subtleties like the hip swing and the feet pointing out

EDIT: Getting better, just need to fix the foot null from popping out underneath the foot

He's really shaping up! Nice work!
Darkwing
Thanks, I've further refined the walk, and because this is all done with the 2008 rig, I intend to donate these actions to the community as I don't think there are many actual resources for the 2008 rig like there was for the 2001 rig

Good looking camo gear ,good walk awell
Darkwing
it's not so much camo as it is mud (after you see scene 1, you'll understand) but thanks, the tuts that rob made were a really huge help
Eric2575
Much better walk. Add just the slightest head movement, scanning from left to right or vice versa. Just to give the head neck area some life.
Darkwing
well, i'm gonna leave the head area for the final animation stages, this is the basic walk cycle to apply to each character, i mean i have it bob a little cause that's natural, but anything else will be done scene by scene. currently working on a run cycle, now on attempt 3 (this one should hopefully be a working one though)
Darkwing
yep, 3rd time's the charm as they say! here's a run cycle!
