Hi all:

I am still tinkering with radiosity and am having a bit of trouble with the colors of my model getting muted or washed out during the render. I'm sure it's something easy to fix, but I don't know where to start. The model renders fine without radiosity as you can see by the top render, but gets pretty bland with rad turned on. I am using the rad calculate surface plugin to get the initial rad settings, and then I calc rad before the render. My "Cornell" box is about 4x4x4 feet with an open front. The rifle is modeled to scale, and both the box and the room are left at scale in the chor. There is one bulb light towards the top of the box at 80% intensity with the falloff just short of touching the rifle model. The radiosity setting are shown in the pic below. Final gathering samples is set at 200. So what do I need to do to get rich colors in a radiosity render? This was rendered in AMV13.t

Thanks in advance

Eric

Your specular intensity values are too high on the material. Radiosity does funny things with specularity.

Thanks PM, that did the trick.
