Hey guys. I'm getting a lot of crashes in 15G. It seems to happen randomly and the six or seven times it has happened it has happened while I was right clicking to save or using the menu to open a model (the crashes have all occured while I was doing something with modeling although the "open" model crash didn't even give me a chance to select a file the 2 times i happened).
So far it has happened with several different projects and several different models.
So far, I've been extremely lucky in that it has at most only cost me a couple minutes work. But I thought I would ask if anyone has any idea what the issue might be?
Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

Yoda had posted earlier about a similar complant.. just slowdown for now and make sure you are not quick rendering on another screen it will be fixed

Ah. Well at least they know about it.
I finally just got burned. Lost about 20 mins of work.

Why, when I was a boy all you had to do was click on a button and the whole thing could disappear.
The best bugs are the ones you can repeat. If you get a crash try doing the same thing again, and if you can come up with the steps to do it that's a good AMReport.

Yeah I thought of that but there doesn't appear to be any pattern to it. At least none that I can see. But maybe I'm not a good enough detective.
I'm modeling, I right click to save the model and most of the time it works fine. Every once in awhile it shuts the whole program down before I can save the model.
The other times it happened I was opening a model to use parts of it on another model and I went to the menu and clicked on file and then open and most of the time I get to open my file. But a couple of times the whole program shut down before I even see the files available to open.
That's all I got. As I mentioned before I'm making a lot of models because of the letters and numbers thing. I was using new projects on almost all of them because I started a pattern of making the models, an assembly line of sorts and I didn't want to confuse anything on the models. So as I said, different projects, the only thing all these crashes had in common is that a modeling window was open when they happened. That's it.
Sorry I don't have more to offer.

For saving, I would highly recommend using the Ctrl+S method. It's fast and I've never had a problem with it even though I do it every two minutes.

For opening, I almost always drag the model into AM and no problems either. Not saying the bug shouldn't be fixed though.
It does depend on so many things. Could be the model, could be the graphics card, etc etc. So, these things are very hard to track down with out repeatability.

I have one idea... which may or may not apply to your version... but if "Enable Open MP" is checked in your Options>Global tab, try it off and restart. I only have one core so mine is greyed out, but that's maybe the biggest recent code change in A:M.
Try it for a few days, see if anything is different. It won't be obvious in a few minutes even if it does change anything.

I am having the same problem: start 15g, try to import a chor or a model - crash. Restart 15g - try to import same model or same chor - no crash. try again - may or may not crash.
I will try dragging model or chor in instead.
But then I've also had problems with saving - may or may not crash crash crash -
That's why I'm back to 15e for modifying stuff, and only use 15g for rendering (if I can get it imported).
(have not tried 15h)
