Mark would it be possible to use just the hands from your rig for a silly charector with no body .I just want the wrist and hands ,I triede the Steves gismo hand rig but couldn't get it to work very well

Yes, but it would take some doing.

TSM2 can do isolated body parts in the "parts" tab.

There's video in my screencam tuts on how to use the parts tab although it's not specifically about hands.
