Quick question. How much flexibility do we have with the scene? ie I don't want to use the path and walk action, I'd like to experiment with the camera in the 1st half and play with the timing of the crying.

Cheers

In this scene, you have a lot of flexibility. You can play with the path and camera and make your own walk if you want.
(Some scenes are less flexible than others due to continuity issues with previous and next scenes)

You can also play with the audio timing if you want. If you do:
Please do it in an audio editor.
Make the audio clip the same length as the chor, including silence.
Save the audio as 16 bit 44.1KHz Stereo (Little Endian if you have a choice)
Replace the original audio clip with your new one. (there should be only one audio file)
-------
It is possible to render a quick shaded movie after you adjust audio timing and extract the audio from the movie you rendered (with which you replace the original audio clip)
BUT, the audio quality sometimes degrades considerably with this method (I don't know why), so if you want to make sure your scene doesn't sound worse than the scenes before and after yours, you should do your timing and adjustments in an external audio editor if at all possible.

Is there a secret to displaying/selecting the bones on Trot in the Chor? No matter what I select, what I delete, what I hide etc I can't even get the bones to display (they display just fine for the room etc - just not for Trot).

Running 15g on Win Vista Home Premium SP2

Cheers

How strange. Even bringing in a new instance of Trot doesn't work. It seems to have something to do with trot in that project. Scarecrow works in the chor while trot won't work in a new chor in that project. No idea why.

Wha? blink.gif blink.gif

David, please hold off on 2_10_01 until I can fix it.
Would you like to start on 2_10_02 instead?

I have the same problem in 2_10_2.......... Is it just me or is it Trot?

Cheers

This is actually a problem with 15g. I tried other models - same problem. I reinstalled 15f and I have access to the bones again.

Note that I have not tried the OSX version of 15g yet.

By any chance, was Trot set to not pickable in the chor?
higginsdj
No. Chors have problems in 15g. The room was set to not pickable but it was pickable (I could not make it not picakable). Trot was selectable in Director mode but could not set the other modes correctly. Same chor works perfectly in 15f. As I mentioned I tried other models in brand new chors and I had the same problem.

15g on OSX 10.6 just crashes at the end of loading any SO scene project sad.gif

Having the same problem with 2_09_01. Did you write a report about this for Steffen? It seems to have something to do with the characters with the newer rigs. Tinman and scarecrow work. But Captain Bill and Trot don't.
mtpeak2
By any chance, do you have hair turned ON? When I open any project that has hair and turn hair ON, A:M quits.
HomeSlice
I tried with hair Off. I imported a single model into a blank chor and all models worked correctly when there was only one model in the chor, regardless of rig.
Then I began importing multiple models into a blank chor. After that, problems began to happen. Some models were selectable and some were not. The only pattern I have found so far is that Tin Man and Scarecrow (squetch rig) are the only ones that work consistently (Like David said). All the newer models, LiteRig and 2008Rig act unpredictably. I don't really know if it has anything to do with the rig or not. It may have to do with whatever version of AM the model was made in. As a test, I made a copy of Tin Man, opened him in 15g, moved some CPs around and saved it. But it still worked fine in a chor with multiple different models. I have no idea how to isolate the issue at the moment.
mtpeak2
What model has the 2008 rig?
KenH
I believe King Krewl.
mtpeak2
No, that's the lite rig.
HomeSlice
Brautigan
Bill
Googly Goo
Guard
Pessim
Pon
Witch
Gloria has 2008 rig and LiteFace.
mtpeak2
Sorry, but those are all the squetch rig, the 2008 rig was not used for any model that I'm aware of.
HomeSlice
OK, well then, we can no longer say that the squetch rig is the only one that works. I guess what we can say is that the version of the squetch rig from 2005 (or whenever Tin Man and Scarecrow were rigged) is the only one that works.
KenH
Back to 15f so. Shame.

Here's the link for anyone else:

looks like David Simmons identified what the problem is in 15g - and a way to fix it

The model bone was hidden in the "Show_and_Hide_Rig_Components/hide_face_setup_bones/mouth/hide_mouth_lr_bones" Pose

I tried it out on a modified Trot and it worked in a simple chor
