sir fen the usa
so i started rigging my model and accidentally zoomed way out and saw the bone sitting out there. i moved it around and then closer to my model and it became huge, apparently when i move it it changes its size. i cant scale manually. if i delete it my model completely gets removed from the project. when i hover the cursor over it it say (model name: rotation object)
should i just ignore it?

That looks like the default Model Bone.
Go into Bones Mode.
Click on your model's name in the PWS. If the bone starts flashing, then it is the Model Bone.
With the bone flashing, look in the |Properties| panel.
You can position/scale/rotate the bone there.
It is usually a good idea for the Start of this bone to be at 0,0,0 and extend straight forward no farther that your model's geometry extends.

if all else fails you can select it and change its length in its properties>Bone position>length

That is your "model bone", normally visible only when you click on the background in the model window while in bones mode.

but you should be able to translate and scale it like any other bone.

model bones typically originate at 0,0,0 in the model window
