In order to download and use alpha 11 do i need to have the cd for version 10.5? I have perk holding a flower, i think thats 9.5. I upgraded once to 10.5 and if i remeber correctly thats as high as you can go for free, nut i wasnt sure if that applied to the alphas as well.

Thanks,

SeanC.

You can use th latest alpha with the Perk CD, although I expect it's due to run out any minute now biggrin.gif

Whenever i download the aplha and try to open it, it asks for the version 11 cd which of course i do not have. I suppose this means it already ran out? That seems odd though because i tried this a month or two ago and i still couldnt open it. hmmm. Am i forgeting to do something?

Thanks,

There is a specific alpha version for the Perk CD. You can download it here: http://www.hash.com/ftp/pub/updates/window...lpha/am2004.exe

Perk holding flower is "actually" 10.0.
So u've got not the evil 9.5 thing... for now u can upgrade with perk up to
v11... but u have to get the right version, cause there are two... one for
perk and one for orangutan...
But sooner or later that will change...
U can download the update at the ftp-section under "2003"... the file is
named am2004.exe...
This is the direct link:
http://www.hash.com/ftp/pub/updates/window...lpha/am2004.exe
But u have to watch for the Perk-version if u like to download in future...
It is not said that Perk-CD-ver. will be available in future...
In this case u would have to update to 2004 (orangutan)...
In general u can update ur A:M-version for 1 year with the same cd (based on
the release-date of the cd)

Hm... u could try to use the timelock-patch, but i dont think that it's for
the current version... Alphas are just trial-versions, which functionality
stopps after 2 weeks or so... normally after 2 weeks there are 1 or even 2
new alphas, but recently the next alpha took a bit longer, so the
timelock-patch was given out for download.
u can get the timelock-patch here:
ftp://ftp.hash.com/pub/updates/windows/Am...ha/timelock.exe
There could be also a problem with the links in ur Start-folder...
I had the problem that i had 3 version of A:M installed at different
places... but the link in the start-folder
was a link to a old alpha...

U could also try to reinstall A:M...
If u already tried to install v11 but with the wrong CD-version, it could be
a problem, too...
If all this doesnt help, u could ask Hash what's wrong... write to Steve...
this is the best possibility to get a good answer.

PS: There is although a reg-cleaner-file, but i dont know if it can help
u...
PPSS: I forgot to ask u: Do u use a Mac or PC?
