Can someone point me in the right direction or give me a sample of a model with this attribute?

Thanks

Most metall /chromic material looks great, because there are reflections (faked or real once) on the surface.

You can use for example the Environmentshader or a EnvironmentMap-Material for such a thing or you can just create a sphere around your scene, map the sphere with an environment and use a high reflectivity-value (will very likely take longer to render).

Thanks for that info Furchur

but how do you think AGEP accomplished the horizontal and vertical lines? Are the modeled in?

Modelled or Heightmap (so Normal, Bump or Displacementmaps...)
I would say you should model them. That will give you the best controls.

When it comes to chrome materials its all about environment making reflection. The material is simply a black material with reflectivity set to 80% . I've added a link to a bundle to some nice "studio" HDRI's that will make nice chrome reflection (these are not the ones I used on the robot though, but I have tested them and they are great). When it comes to the muscle grooves I used a bump map (make sure to have the spline rings evenly spaced and use it as group image)

You might have to render using AO to get the full effect of the hdri's

Decal I used for the muscles:

Could someone post the link to Stian's tutorial on ibl hdr rendering related to this topic.

When you do a search with the word Ghostbusters in it, you get the link. Here it is: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showt...hl=ghostbusters

Thank you very much

Open a new model and just play with the materials as a sphere. Its really not hard at all to make metal. I would also model the rings in.
Under each attribute make the service colors white and silver. and set reflectivity to 65+.

This is not my model, I just did the render.

Thanks.

This is Vern's Terminator Model. Both pics have Enviroment maps with a light probe I found. One was rendered with AO and one was not.

Vern could you create a video tutorial on how you rigged the shoulder with the hydraulics
