More like one of those convertables, the laptop I had access too was bit out dated. Trying to keep the patches down so it renders quick, so far its gettin there.

It looks pretty good, but it's hard to tell with the lighting. I think it's a little too white

Update on the laptop, I'll be doing some of the side panels with textures for some of the small stuff to keep the detail up and patches down. so far it's almost 2600 patches and want just about everyone to be able to use it without breaking their systems.

Nice!
You're getting really good at this. (or maybe you've just been good at this for a long time)
Its hard to tell from the small images but it appears you've got a very nice economy of splines.

Thanks, as I get time I'll finish it off, I have just about all the textures done and ready. Hopefully I can toss it up on the freebie corner this weekend or early next week.
I have been modeling since the early 90's, mostly poly work then I drifted to sub-d modeling and nurbs with brep surfaces and asics. I am new at splines and find them similar to brep surfaces just not as precise but much more flexible.

Update on the laptop, still have a couple small kinks to take out, 4 in particular on the lid (i made the mistake of using a low grade tin for the metal portion).

Yeah, that turning screen is pretty cool. I've never seen anything like that before.

If you Google "swivel laptop screen", you will arrive at a whole bunch of Laptops available, for a while now, with this capability.
AND, If I may add, watching this thread. . . . ...
VERY nice progress here !!!

Impressive modeling and a very useful model!
I merged your Work In Progress topic with this topic. Hope that isn't too confusing.
Seeing the progress of the model as its being made and reading more about it can be quite useful.
Starting with this model we'll also begin pinning new contributions.
This should help those who missed the model while it was in the Contributor's Cue find the newer contributions in the alphabetical listing. Without pinning its hard to determine what is new.
If appropriate we may occasionally bump up and highlight an older resource by pinning it too.
