Or a plug in or an add on or whatever the kids are calling it these days?

Because I seem to have the material from a tub model in the extras disc. I cannot find any other example of it though.

From what I heard about it being used on the forum I thought it was some sort of program add on.

Anyone know?

EDIT: Oh! And can anyone tell me why I can't seem to get rid of this strange stripe running acrossed the headrest of my couch model here (you really have to enlarge the pic to see it well)? I've tried adjusting the bias handles but it just isn't going away.

It is a material which will try to smooth your surfaces.
Anyway it isnt working very well today. You can try it, it may help but you also can have very wired results... (have a look at the direction of the normals before applying.)

-> The line comes from the bias-variation. Select the CPs and type in the properties of the bias magnitude = 100%. This will reset it.

That sure looks like the telltale signs of internal patches to me. Not sure without looking at the model or a wireframe image.
Remember how Robert showed you how to get rid of those in your building?
You may have to do the same thing here.

That was a good suggestion. I went back and took another look but I really can't seem to find any internal patches.

Here's the model file if you want to take a look. I was going to add it to the exchange once I got it done anyway.

Fuchur I'm going to try your suggestion later on tonight as it's a bit more involved and I'm just knocking off. Thanks.

The spline that runs from front to back on the couch back has Peaked CPs. change those to smooth. You'll probably want to do that for both splines running thru a CP. some other CPs on the couch would probably benefit from being not peaked also.

And I think you're trying too hard to connect the arms and back of that couch. They could be separate shapes like this
