I put together a real preliminary audio mix with me reading the scene directions like narration. I did this because I wanted to get a better feel for the amount of time the short will run along with how well my voice actors roles are blending together.
It's tough to act a part where you never hear any of the other characters until the project is done. So I did this to give them some reference and now I'm going to go back to them and see if they want to polish up some lines.
I added some background environmental noise simply to try and mask some of the lesser quality audio I received from one or two of the actors and I think it brings it together a bit more than it takes away.
Also, my narration sounds like shit because I basically just read it with no retakes. Since it won't be part of the final short I didn't think it needed to be pretty. It kinda sounds like a radio play though, without the foley of course.
Any thoughts would be welcome.
Here is the audio in MP3 format. It's about 13 mb and about 15 min long.
