A few questions in connection with volumetric ligthing:

-I have heard that in other apps there is an option to make a lightcone visible by simply activating a button, as kind of a non "realistic alternative" to real
volumetric lighting, in case that this would get too rendertime heavy.
Since it seems there is no such option in AM, can a similar effect (visible lightcone without volumetric lighting) be achieved by certain settings of the light?

-There is no general option to switch volumetric lighting off for speedy testrendering, right?
So I guess for that purpose I would have to create on / off poses for all my models with volumetric hierarchical lights in it, right?

-what is that new realtime renderoption good for?
I see no difference to wireframe.

- Which new realtime-option?
Are you talking about Default? Default is hybrid, that means, if you set one object to shaded and one to wireframe in a chor (only here) by using the buttons next to the objects-name in the PWS you can view both modes in one scene at the same time. Wireframe / Shaded / Shaded-Wireframe will overwrite the options set for each object.

Poses or direct manipulation in the chor / choranimation is the only way to archieve that, as far as I know.

- "Realistic Alternativ"... we would need an example. You could use a geometry (a cone) with a transparency-map and constraint it to the light to archieve an equal effect.
I am not aware of anything else that could help you there.

O.K., I see, thank you so far....

<in 15 f there is a new option named realtime...

That seems to be the equivalent of the Default-Drawing-Mode for rendering-output, if you are refering to "Realtime" in the Renderingoptions.
See explaination above called "Default".
