Dear All,

I might have missed something (haven't been on for a while), but I noticed that the regular software version releases, that used to happen every month or more frequently, appear to have stopped at v.15.0e, back in November 2008.

Not that I mind too much if the software is stable - it's just I was used to there being a clear development pipeline (new features, bug fixes etc) which made a yearly subscription make sense...

As a user who used to get the annual subscription CD for many years, and now the web subscription for the past couple, it would be good to know what's planned for the future, or whether A:M has reached its final, finished state...in which case, the choice to pay annually, or once & for all for the full CD, can be made.

Cheers,
Neil

Not sure, but I have to say that the state of A:M right now is pretty sweet. I think it would take me a lifetime just to effectively use all the amazing features that it has now!

I actually haven't been reading the list regularly for a while, but I have decided to catch up. Unfortunately there are so many interesting topics and forums that I hardly seem to get past the Animation Master Forum or a few posts on the work-in-progress forum before my list-reading time is over, then I start all over the next day on the same two forums. I wish this list could be read on something like the Kindle!

Is Martin really in Africa? Better stay away from those lions!

I just read somewhere on this list that Martin was in Africa.

I wonder what Martin is doing in Africa? Stay away from those lions!

Martin is over there for vacation as far as I know.
I dont know exactly how long so.

A:M is still under developement mainly by Steffen Gross. He has v15.0 (f) ready for takeoff but someone at Hash has to test the version and upload it to the FTP-server. I cant say why this is taking that long. Maybe they need permission by Martin to publish it or something like that. v15.0 f will for example have driversupport for 3d-mouses by 3d connexion (For example the Space Navigator) and several bugfixes... which once can be seen in the A:M Reports Version-History.

I think when Martin is back the updates will be more frequent again, but till than we just have to be patient and hope that someone from Hash uploads the new versions after testing in the near future.

I don't know about that. Hash is much leaner than in the past so updates are bound to be less regular. But as long as it's a great stable animation tool, I'll be keeping it in my arsenal.

So is Hash, Inc. no longer working on A:M? Is there a thread that describes what is the situation?

Sincerely,

Steffen is part of Hash now.

Aside from debugging, he is also implementing new features and seems to be taking a forward-looking view on updating the code to take advantage of new technologies.

I'm glad he's doing it.

OK, that answers a lot of questions.
