Edit: Angelo just sent in the foley for this sequence, so I uploaded a new version with the foley.

Wow what a great development in every aspect from the beginings and even end of TWO.
Now the work and especially the animation is really looking professional in my opinion.
(AHmm one minor thing, the fire is starting before the match gets struck...maybe theres a reason for it)
I am really impressed.
Five stars

Holmes, I'm captivated. All of these scenes (not just Act 2, Seq 1) are looking superb.
You've found a winning setup for the lighting. I like the consistency.
Very nice!

Nancy, I think the ork looks great.
New sequence looks very good. And I agree, the lighting is terrific. I am also impressed with the use of the fake rim light - quite a useful trick (don't totally understand how it works - but it does!)
And thanks for your comment - I really appreciate it.

The fake rim light trick is an invention of Matt Campbell. I read about it in one of his forum posts. It is just a gradient material with the edge threshold set to ... 50% I think. There are no surface qualities set except for the Ambiance of the attribute that controls the outer edge of the gradient. I think I set the Ambiance Intensity to 25%, but I don't remember exactly. I agree, it is a really cool trick and I'm grateful to Matt for sharing the idea with the community.
