Angelo Panetta, the fellow who did foley for Tin Woodman of Oz has been working behind the scenes to provide some foley tracks for Scarecrow of Oz, and I've been prepping the completed scenes for the first final (draft) renders. Since this is so early in the process, we might even be able to fine tune them a bit when the real post work starts later.

We now have high quality drafts of Act 1-Sequence 1 and Act 1-Sequence 2 online for you to take a look at.

The videos stream at 512 KB/sec, so if you have a slower connection, you may want to hit the play button, then pause it for a couple of minutes while a good portion of it downloads.

Nice work guys.

Encouraging!

Yeah! Great Foley! I like the new voice for the TW. What's next, music?
PF_Mark
Great sound affects!

I know this is just a rough draft but I noticed that in the 1st shot when the crows are flying away one stops flapping we need to add some more time to it's cycle wink.gif

Well, eventually. We have a few more scenes to finish first.

The foley is great - love the crows.

Very well done...

I think the crows-fly-cycle should be a little bit more dynamic (whole body should move, not only the flys) and when the king says "boblyboblyblob" (or whatever) there may need to be some arm/hand-movement symbolising that but otherwise very well done!

I especially like the expressions on the kings face and the camerawork is very well too.

Thanks for showing!

I agree. I actually made one of those a while back. Obviously it wasn't used. It's located here for anyone interested:

It was probably just a case of having more tasks to do than people to do them. I'm guessing either the animators (Michael Giguere and Sebastian Pfeifer) didn't know about your crow flying action, or they wanted to use their own.

I just watch Act 1 Scene 1 through Act 2 Scene 8 again and I really enjoyed it.
There are moments that are simply spectacular.

My hats off to those who've been sticking with this!

Holmes,
I'm impressed.
The work thus far is inspiring.
Rodney
With aplogies for any spoilers!

These are a few of the frames/scenes/animation/acting/environments that caught my eye.

Thanks Rodney. The second half is slowly coming together. Hopefully, we'll be able to start animation in a couple of months.

Wonderful news.

Are there going to be any openings for additional animators?
I know others will want to be involved with this if they can.
KenH
That's looking like quite an adventure when seen like that. Maybe we are going to top TWO.

I'd venture to say we already have but there is a lot of TWO that is just as compeling.
What makes me think we are well on your way is that the bad guys haven't even been fully introduced yet!

Something that also makes this film work is that its a sequel that isn't really a sequel.
Having the story shift to Cap'n Bill and Trot so early is really nice plot element.

Its interesting how important Bill and Trot seem to us at this stage in the story.
When they went down the whirlpool we apparently went with them as well.
But now that we are all heading off to Jinxland I am getting a bit antsy about seeing what Tin Woodman's been up to.
I do hope he is okay. wink.gif

Ummm ... Tin Woodman died.
Sorry man. We tried everything. It couldn't be helped.
KenH
You might meet him when you open a tin of beans. Sad state of affairs.
MJL
Yeah, I heard he might have gotten canned.
Rodney
Gah!!! Tinny Dead? blink.gif

<rodney frantically searches for the script>

You guys should take your act on the road!
