hi everyone...
just wanted to say that i finally started working on that scene, but nothing to show yet... i was busy for almost 2 weeks now with a big project, a website for my main client wich involves a lot of 3d animation.
if everything works out the next few days i can start rendering all that stuff on my other 2 computers with a:m installed, so i guess i can do some SO animation while waiting for my renders...

greets...

That's good news Sebastian. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

If you are going to have an excuse that's got to be one of the best ones to have.
"I was busy animating". That's got a nice ring to it. smile.gif

Its good to see you taking advantage of those skills.

i was going to post something tonight, but i get the message "Failed Init Bound render Info" again when iīm trying to render in shaded mode (on pc-version, on a mac a:m simply crashes at frame 9), i had the same problem when iīd tried to render 2_01_02...
maybe someone can take a look at it, i donīt know whats going on....

thanks ahead...

Sorry for the late response. I've been working on something else.
I just rendered 100 frames from the project file you posted without any problem.
My only guess is to switch to DirectX and then try to render a shaded movie?

I'm with Holmes on this.
Rendering to final render with wireframe/shaded mode with OpenGL has been problematic.

This is only a guess here but perhaps A:M's renderer borrows some processing from the graphics card to add the effects of the wireframe/shading to the final render? I dunno. Thats the only place I've ever seen the failed init error.

Switching from OpenGL to Direct3D has allowed me to avoid the error in the past.
Perhaps you can render to final quality but reduce the resolution?
thefreshestever
hmmm, where do i switch this? but iīm wondering why i didnīt have any problems rendering the other scenes iīve been working on in shaded mode....

Tools/Options/Global/real time drivers - switch/toggle to directx

BUT perhaps you don't have enough memory?

I also tried your chor - shaded - and had no problem with opengl (winxp pro).

I also tried FINAL, 1 pass, and 2 pass (no shadows) - no problem - except for first 2 frames when doing 1 pass (would get error message something like "Unhandeled exception in Hash/Mov" image io plugin - but could click ok and still would render. When I did FINAL 2 pass, I did NOT get the error message at all. (render looks quite nice - interesting lighting, setting)

I also notice that the chor is set to do IBL - but there isn't an image specified, with AI=50%, AO=100% -

perhaps try changing global ambiance type to color (white), and AO=0%? See if your system can handle it.

EDIT: And I also see that some light is doing volumetric -that might be causing problem but I could not find the volumetric light. Also Fog is set to ON (turn off?)

The volumetric light is on the pipe.
I think fog is supposed to be on ... but not 100% sure.

i canīt switch to direct x, because iīm on a mac... the pc-version i was talking about is the pc-version im running under parallels desktop, so i canīt switch there either. my "real" pc is busy rendering stuff for work right now, so i canīt test it at the moment. iīm crashing, shaded AND final mode... no matter what i do... tried all your suggestions. memory canīt be the problem, i have a macbook pro with 2,33 ghz dual and 4 gig ram. would be interesting if anyone can render it on a mac!!!?? i guess i wonīt have any problems rendering it on my pc since you guys donīt seem to have any problems either, so the solution for now will be that i simply render it on my pc... but i really would be interested what the problem is. another hint: iīm running the latest a:m version 15.0e...

Maybe check the "Compression Type" in the Quicktime settings in the camera.
Shortcut to Camera > Output Options > Format >Save Options(Set)
Mine just reset to "Animation" the other day. Have no idea why. I was getting strange errors until I set it back to "MPEG-4 Video".

... I had another idea ... but, um ... I just forgot what it was ... it must not have been important ...

sorry for beeing not able to post anything for such a long time... i was too busy with work the last few weeks, needed all my free time to sleep, eat and poop and all that nescessary stuff wink.gif but hey, i did a homepage for my biggest client involving lots of 3d-animation made with a:m... itīs not completely done yet, but at least itīs finally online: www.ld-premium.com smile.gif

i hope my clients will let me have some more free time so i can go back to animating for SO.
btw, let me know if itīs coming back to your mind holmes wink.gif

Hey Sebastian,
Do you need someone else to take on 2_01_04? I see you've been pretty busy.
thefreshestever
unfortunately, yes... i donīt know when iīll be able to get to work on SO again, iīm far too busy at work at the moment. the little free time remaining i honestly donīt want to spend staring into a monitor, too. iīll let you know when things slow down a bit here, i hope itīs someday soon...

Hey man,
No worries, I think you are very fortunate to have so much work during these times. Be happy smile.gif

Work seems to be a limiting factor for a lot of people (me included), more so than in the past. It seems like a very different world than even a year ago.
