When AM bakes a particle system, where does it create the pai file?
I have 4 instances of a "bubble" sprite emitter in my chor.
On 2 of them, I clicked on the "Show More Than Drivers" icon in the chor and set "Particle baked" to ON in Shortcut to Model > Groups > Group1 > Shortcut to Material > Sprite System

I did this with Particles turned OFF in the chor.

AM spent some time calculating the particles each time.
But when I turned Particles ON in the chor, this error message popped up saying that the program cannot find Bubbles_o.pai in the same path as my project file. The error message popped up twice, I guess because I have two instances of my "bubble" model with "Particle Baked" set to ON.

Does anyone know where my pai file went?

Thanks.

Hey Holmes ...

If you haven't located the .pai files yet, check inside the V15 folder under:

Data/Libraries/

At least this is where it stored them for me ... using version 15e. So far I haven't had much luck with this feature but I really haven't fooled with it too much. Occasionally it will cr*sh on me but then again it's most likely error on my part. rolleyes.gif
Not sure how to change the folder to somewhere else because it is locked for me.

You should also be able to do a hard drive search to locate them ... I think.

If I figure anything else out I will reply here ...

Hope it helped a little ...

This is the problem ,
it is necessary to set Particles to ON , when You bake a particle system , otherwise this feature won't work .
And the project should be saved before , if it is a new project.

Thank you for the replies. Turning particles ON before I baked them was the solution.

Bruce, I think maybe Stefan also answered your question about your pai files being saved in Data/Libraries/ instead of in the same folder as your project? Did you save your project before baking your particles?
