So, last night, the final frame rendered. All that remains now is post-processing, last-clean-up editing, and a few re-renders (some shots I need to make a few changes that didn't show up in low-res and are glaring in final quality.)

Yay!
martin
Yay, Jesse! (Don't get discouraged if you have to render some things 2 or 3 times - we had to render some things in TWO many, many times.)

No discouragement here, we're right on schedule for our screening party Feb 7th laugh.gif

That's great news! (Still haven't received the plane tickets though...)

Very cool! Congratulations! How long have you been working on this?

Rusty

PS: In my experience the last 10% of a project can take 90% of the effort! ;-)

3 years (off & on between work and school)

Jesse,

Completing a three year project of any kind is a big deal.
Wow. You can be justifiably proud of this one.

Not that we have a choice here... but I can't wait to see this film in its entirety.
Good luck on the film festival circuit.

Okay... maybe I read that part wrong and you aren't running the film through the circuit.
You should though! smile.gif

Wow! I know what that's like! Both Horrorthon and Mantis took about 2.5 years. Slayer is now over 3 years... f'ing never ending! Not everyone can stick with something for 3 years! Looking forward to seeing it. Try to do a project postmortem -- what you did right, what you did wrong, etc. Takes only a day or two and doing so can really help you improve as you move downstream with each project you do (not that you could tell from my current project LOL!)

Its been a heck of a ride. My roommate and I are both tired of it. No film circuit here, this was mostly for learning/collaborating practice - and it isn't perfect. (Not by a long shot =)

Totally! The post-mortem is already begun, really. We've been talking over what works, what doesn't, things that should have been handled differently ever since final renders began two months ago.

Oddly, we've already begun batting around ideas for the next project (this time I'm writer/director, his other story ideas are a bit too allegorical/serious - I want something funny and fun this time.)
I've already started preliminary character designs for "Figure Drawing" (working title)

I'll post the completed Mountain film after the screening on 2/7
