I commented in the original topic and its worth repeating... this is a very useful tutorial. It can be quite a time saver too as the basic approach to image manipulation and smartskinning will fit in with a multitude of solutions across the board.

Even where someone doesn't plan to implement Smartskinned Decals at the moment this is a great time to watch and learn. Then when you most need the info in your project... BAM! You'll know how to approach it.
