Hi everyone, definitely this is not a good day to animate mad.gif jaja,
I saw a great tut about making an exploding objet and tryed to do it , the tutorial talks
about a plug in called Explosion rebuild but I have a problem when use it , after have done
my model (a simple ball or a cube) I right click it and set the explode rebuilder
plug in, then I let the values as default, I put my model on a chor and set some values
to the model like speed of explosion, freeze turned on and change its type to dynamic
explode objet, then set values to the ground for simulating like static objet, all seems to be fine from here,
but when I right click the Chor and click on Newton simulation an error pop ups (first image down) it´s a little box
that doesn´t mean anything, Click to view attachment

all right I click ok and try to simulating again and a second error apeares (second image down)
but this time A:M it Knock out and it close..... Click to view attachment
I don´t know why is this but if some one knows what am I dong wrong
will help a lot, ....

Also if you know a way or a good tut for do a wall that explodes with bricks will be great because that´s what I want to do , thank
you guys... and keep Animating

It would help to know what version of AM you are using and what OS. I had never really used newton until about an hour ago. I followed that explosion tutorial and it worked perfectly. I have v15.0d of the web subscription running on Windows XP.

It's hard to tell from those errors what the trouble might be causing this. The e-rebuild plugin should create a totally new model that is broken apart, based on the original one. Each part is assigned a null or bone (haven't really looked at the nuts and bolts of it yet). You want to make absolutely sure that that plugin is working properly if you had trouble with it. Since the errors are occurring with Newton it could be a problem with the model.

Like I said, it worked for me. I even had to install the e-rebuild plug in. You may want to check the versions of that plug in to make sure you have the latest one. I noticed there were a few up there.

Another discovery. This has to do with the e-rebuild plugin. You must have the model open and in the front view. When I didn't do that it gave me a warning... I hit okay and AM had an exception and had to close. For a second there I thought your troubles were contagious. wink.gif

It could be something related to that? Just guessing.

Hi heyvern , thanks for answer, I saw that warning too and then i went to the model´s front view and do´t had problms with that yet. the version of A:M i´m using is the web version 15.0 a, maybe you could share your plug in, because the plug in i donwloaded i thing is not for this version , cluold you pass me your plug in for see if the problem solves?........
heyvern
Here is the link for all of his plugins including the e-rebuild plugin. The one I have is the last one in the list for v14 (windows... not mac)

http://www.sgross.com/plugins/index.html

If you still use 15.0a you should update AM as well. That could be part of the problem.

ok, but do I need to pay again for the update ?.... or only download it and use my serial ?......
Caroline
When you download and install it over the previous one, it should not even prompt you for the serial.
Jaff
Wonderfull, you´re right, I have now the version 15d installed, thanks a lot.....

But I have another problem , I donwloaded the troll project that has newton Dinamics aplied to a wall, but I still can´t get the Newton works, I delete the troll and replace it with another model, I put this model on Static with action and put an action on it, but when I simulate the newton the model only pass thru the wall and nathing happens, I WANT THAT WALL to Collapase, please help AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaa¡¡¡¡¡

You need to add Newton groups to the model which uses the "Static With Action". Open up the Troll model and you'll see how it is done
Fuchur
dont know what happens at your side, but try this file out. Does it work?

See you...

All right , Thanks Fuchur and Agep , that project show me some things and it worked fine, I did my own and worked very well , but when I put my model on the project and do the simulation the same thing happend, it only pass thru and non of the boxes react, I put some groups named Newton1, Newton2 an so until 5 but still not working, I let you my project if someone has a little of time and could tell me what I am doing wrong or what am i missed up, thank guys
agep
I'll take a look

*edit* The first thing I noticed is that your groupname syntax is wrong. It should be Newton_1 not Newton1

*edit2* Cool zombie by the way wink.gif

Just a little thing I noticed, even so it doesnt have to do anything with the problem you encounter: You should close the windows you dont need at the moment. You are working with many different once behind each other which is okay, but in eariler versions of A:M that could be a problem and I tend to think, that it is always better to have only 1 or 2 windows open...

It is more of a feeling somehow, but I am quite sure that A:M will run smoother with only a few windows open at a time.
You can always reopen the windows by using the PWS-window. Just a doubleclick on the entry you want and it will be back open again.

agep has pointed it , the groupname syntax is important und must be strictly Newton_
Another suggestion , use a higher "Resolution for Static with action" (I suggest 20), because You have a very fast velocity for the actor .
Jaff
Ok, let me try those things and see what happens, change the names of the groups, less opened windows will make A:M faster, and try with a bigger resolution , ......
