Sebastian - No light probes, no spheres, no brain cells were harmed in the making of my image. "Member the part about no thinking, lazy, impatient?
The image used for the background rotoscope, is the same image that was used for the IBL - with lat-long mapping. No HDR, and not a very high resolution image either.
QUOTE
IBL = roto image, AI=100%, Klieg = 100% white, image size = 1250 x500, 4 pass, render time= 2:05 mins
The one additional light, Klieg type - with z-buffered shadows, was used to get the directional shadows. (Ground plane is projection mapped and flat shaded).
There was no AO involved, AO=0%. AO takes a loooonnnnnggggg time.
I find, depending on the image I use for IBL - I will need to play with the percent AI and the percent of the white Klieg light - I used a white Klieg this time, because I was not wanting to shift colors - as this was a test to see how they all played together. I would probably use a peachier or "beige-er" light color in some situations.
Given that I am going for a more painterly look, and I am old - I find that 4 passes is sufficient. I suppose I could do 5, but that would take an additional 30 secs up of my life.
