I'm getting ready to do the lipsync and facial expressions. I thought about a potential issue. I think the starting face of Trot has her eyes too wide open. I'd like to close her lids a little but I don't want to lose continuity with previous shots. Is the face that she starts with her normal relaxed look or can I close her eye lids a touch so she doesn't look like shes a zombie hehe?

Each new shot is a new camera cut, so you can do what you like. There's a default pose I'm putting in all the models that closes their eyes down to their irises but this also does other things such as curl the fingers abit.....just stuff for a more natural pose.

This would be perfect. Thanks!

OK these last 2 weeks have not been good for me but I did manage to get some of the lipsync done for my shot.

Truthfully I cannot see how Ken H. can animate at the speed he does. I'm still working on lipsync. I have about 8 lipsync lines to do (and some are pretty long cuts). I haven't gotten to the actual poses and camera set up yet which I have to change because of having to match Ken's previous shot. Where his last position is for Bill, Trot and the Ork, they threw off all the camera positions that were set up.

I've committed what I've done so far

I posted in the wrong post so I'm going to repost here.

Well I FINALLY got enough time to finish the blocking. I still need to do a little clean up (delete keys that are not used per KenH's request) and set the frames to "hold" but the initial poses are in place. Here's a render of the poses and camera angles. All crits and suggestions welcomed. I really would appreciate the feedback.

Bear in mind that this is ONLY blocking so you'll see passing through and robotic movements. What I need to know is if the poses are good enough or not.

Thanks,
George

One more thing, As much as I tried to reduce the file, because it's slightly over a minute long, the file size is 11 meg.

Yaaay! Jeetman does animation! wink.gif

I like it! You've got some good poses in there. Nothing that doesn't make sense. It's hard to tell how the lipsync is, but it doesn't need to be perfect at this stage. Those pops in the audio are very distracting....we can't leave them in there.

Oh, that's very close. Let's call it "good," so you can move onto another assignment.

My plan is to make an Edit of the 1st half of the movie then watch it and make notes of any animation polishing we think is needed. We'll post those suggestions into the appropriate threads and you can come back and pick them up later if you feel so inclined. I've noticed that once people have been away from a sequence for awhile, they're more willing to dink on it. We're leaving time in our schedule to do just that.

In my higher res rendering at home I didn't hear pops. It's probably because I'm using the lowest quality to keep the file size down maybe?

So the camera angles look Ok to you?

They seem fine to me. But that'll be up to the Director (Martin) ultimately. He'll probably change anything in the edits.

Do you want me to delete the extra keys and set the frames to hold?
