Gloria's (and Trot's & Cap'n Bill's) bedrooms are French rococo style. See pictures below.

Hot DAMN!

Yes!

Only thing I might add is that perhaps fabric patterning might be more eastern (ala Victoriana style) to go with Gloria's harem pants, asian, middle eastern look
HomeSlice
Hmmmm, good point Nancy. I hadn't thought of that.
Gloria's room should be different from Capn Bill and Trot's rooms because her room is not a guest room. She lives there and would have personalized it somewhat.
Also, she is a princess and, perhaps, would have larger and more luxurious quarters? It doesn't say in the script that Krewl has deprived Gloria of anything except Pon, so I assume she would have quarters fit for a princess.

Also has potted plants, flowers & room maybe has a garden view? or opens up to a garden via big elaborate french doors?

speaking of garden: perhaps these can serve as a reference: Sonoma Horticultural gardens

EDIT: maybe some ottomans, hookahs, and slave boys with fans. Or maybe the Ottomans can be slave boys ? I kid...I kid...

As for Bill & trot's rooms - yeah I think Gloria's bedroom should be more exotic, elegant than the guest quarters

Hi,
Here some sketches, ideas for the bedrooms and furnitures

Al
NancyGormezano
nice sketches Al. I assume these are for Gloria's room? or ideas for all the rooms?

I love the roccoco furniture, especially the fainting couches.

I think it could be a nice if there were a cozy sitting area for Trot and Gloria to chat. (maybe less empathsis on bed for Gloria's room?)

To provide an example, I hunted up an image with a Turkish parlour feel, with a sorta cozy furniture arrangement, overlooking the garden. Ignore colors, imagine it with elegant fabrics, but still has an eastern, indian, asian feel combined with the roccoco shapes - something the British empire might conjur up, as they stole willy-nilly while pillaging many cultures.

I only stress going for an exotic look for Gloria's room as she has an exotic costume.
martin
I imagined Gloria on the "fainting couch" during her whining tirade.

Ditto on the sketches Al!

We need 3 bedrooms (Gloria, Trot & Cap'n Bill). There's some action in Cap'n Bill's, and any time spent modeling it would be worthwhile. Gloria's bedroom has the whining scene and it could be exotic. Trot's room is the least important... But it might be if we use it to set up that these are bedrooms. (Trot walks in and is amazed by the opulence - or disgusted). A rococo bedroom would serve very well for that.

Alain, can you sketch us a "Gloria's Bedroom" that is more like Nancy's imagining, and we'll use your existing sketch for Trot's bedroom, (with gold leaf designs on the walls, of course).
alweb
Well,

The sketches shows kind of generic bedroom ...
You can follow my bedroom plan or do it differently

Once a basic room created, you can fill it with differents furnitures .
Some ideas are shown on my sketches or in the reference picture...

On walls you can add curtain , wood plate , picture , light fixture
some table , couch , bed , and chair
put carpet on the floor etc.

So that way the room design will develop as you need...furniture can be use in different bedroom so...

I think the main thing , is to build a basic room of the same model so all bedroom look from the same building.
IMO keeping window and door tall would fit better for a castle.

Maybe a color theme for each room would help to locate the action?

Martin,

I'd be happy to take on these three rooms. I will start with basic boxes with doors and some placeholder models for the furniture and props.

I'll get set up on the SO SVN this week.

Jody
HomeSlice
Jody, that's great!
There is already a generic "Jinx_Castle_Bedroom" up on svn in the Sets folder. That one is the "guest room". Cap'n Bill and Trot each have their own guest room. If you want to spruce it up, go for it.

I don't think there is anything for Gloria's room yet. As you can see, it is a bit more involved.

Woo Hoo!

HomeSlice
Jody,
Will you please upload what you've done so far to svn? Please try to upload your progress at least every two weeks, even if you are not finished. That helps us to know the task has not been abandoned and also gives our Layout perso and animators something to work with while you are finishing the model. It also gives us incremental backups in case something happens.
Thanks!
MMZ_TimeLord
Okay, so I was about to submit my work when it dawned on me, that I was unsure as to how we are assembling the sets.

Are we putting lots of props in a single model or is it the choreography route similar to what we did on TWO? Or an action?

Please advise... maybe this is already documented somewhere and I missed it.

Cheers!
KenH
Use an "assembly action" for most of the props*. That means making a new action with the shell of the room. Then we can just drop it on to that shell in the chor to populate it with props (in case you don't know).

*Anything that needs interaction (such as a cup) can be put directly into the chor so we can constrain them.
MMZ_TimeLord
Ken,

Thanks... I should have something updated today. Base room model with two doors, the window as well as an action with some rough furniture.

Cheers!
KenH
Can you make sure the corridor works with the room or vice versa. Thanks.

Ken,

It's been a busy day here... I'll see if I can put those together tonight and continue to build my placeholder props and get the action submitted this evening.

Jody
MMZ_TimeLord
Ken,

I haven't had much time to work on modeling, but I put the hallway together with the room model I'm working with and the doors for the hallway that are already rigged don't quite fit the room in relation to the other doors of the hallway except one way.

I'm not sure how you want the rooms laid out, but we may have to 'adjust' the hallway based on the room layout.

I'll be working on some rough props today and include some from the SVN if there are any.

Can anyone give a hallway map of the rooms in relation to one another or are all the character's rooms in different hallways?
martin
Gloria's & Trot's bedrooms are next to each other. Cap'n Bill's can be anywhere.
MMZ_TimeLord
So the extra doorway in Gloria's bedroom is to ajoin to Trot's? If this is the case then the hallway should work as is.

Cheers!
