Still don't see the roughness & the chartreuse green scale/hair is probably a bit too glowy much, and it could still stand some more tonal variation. I preferred the brownish tones. I suspect your monitor is calibrated differently than mine.
Since we don't yet have the final witch room setting, final lighting - we can tweak the tones, color balance later, if required.
As for the carvings, if you wanted, it could be done if you decaled the top (like you did the braces).
For now, it's a good idea to upload to svn (commit what you have).
