It looks like it's just the Laughing fish that needs to emote:
EXT. RIVERBOTTOM. DAY
2_11_10
TIN WOODMAN sinks quickly, bubbles spewing all around him, until he comes to rest on the Riverbottom.
2_11_11
TIN WOODMAN stands there for a moment surprised.
2_11_12
FISH1, FISH2 AND FISH3 swim up close and curiously examine TIN WOODMAN.
2_11_13
TIN WOODMAN smiles at the FISH causing them to quickly swim away in fright.
2_11_14
TIN WOODMAN looks about himself, trying to get his bearings.
TIN WOODMAN
(bubbly voice) Goodness, me... Where am I?
TIN WOODMAN catches the attention to a passing LAUGHFISH. He tips his hat in greeting.
TIN WOODMAN
(bubbly voice) Hello, sir. Might you point me the way out of here?
2_11_15
LAUGHFISH looks at TIN WOODMAN in surprise, then starts laughing at him
LAUGHFISH
HE HE HE HA HA HA HO HO HO
LAUGHFISH then swims quickly away.
2_11_16
TIN WOODMAN
(bubbly voice) Not very neighborly.

Maybe do the laughing fish too ? I believe I noticed at one time on the status that it reported that the laughing fish was done - but I only did a concept sketch - you could ignore or use the concept...if you like.

At the moment, here is the laughfish we have. It needs a bit of work to be animatable. If it's OK with Nancy, and if you want, you are certainly welcome to make a new laughfish. Just let us know.

i´d say i´ll take care of the fishes... i´m a good neighbor....

i like your concept-fish, but if they need to be scared or laughing i guess they need a real "face", more comic-style fishes as in "a sharks tale" ... this is going to be fun, i always wanted to model a fish actually...

Yikes! Yes please make new fish - I wasn't thinking of the catfish - (honestly don't remember uploading that cat fish, but obviously I did) -
I was referring to the concept sketch for the laughing fish as seen here:
laughing fish floozyand I thought for the other fish - which I thought? were on the svn - but require rigging (maybe could just be loitering background fish, not fishes 1,2,3)
background fishBut puhleeze - do want you'd like

Hi Sebastion,
How are Fishes 2 & 3 coming? The two week timer for these tasks runs out in just three days. You don't have to finish the fish by then, you just have to upload some progress so I can reset the timer. In order to keep the overall project progressing, we just need to see some activity so we know the task is still being actively worked on. If no activity is seen within two weeks, a task reverts to "Unassigned" and it goes back up for grabs so someone else can give it a try.
You can either upload them to svn or upload zip files to this forum and I will add them to svn.
If you commit them to svn yourself, please name Fish 1 as "Fish1.mdl" and upload it to the Actors/Fish1 folder. Name Fish 2 as "Fish2.mdl" and upload it to the Actors/Fish2 folder.
Thanks.

hmm... i still don´t get it, sorry... just tried it again, but i can´t replace the files... usally i´m not that stupid when it comes to understanding new software, but this one really drives me into desperation...

maybe i´ll try another software next time, there has to be one out there i´m able to understand... aaaaaarrrrrggghhhh
so sorry again holmes, here are the files, please upload them for me once again... thanks...

Nice fishes! We could vary their color to make a few more if needed too.
What svn client software are you using again? What exactly are you doing? You'll need to learn as you can't be posting your animation every time you make a change.

i´m using synchro svn on a mac and i DON`T know what i´m doing...

i can download the reposititory data and then synchronize it with my folder, that´s no problem... then when i add a file/folder to my copy on my desktop and try to upload (the term there seems to be "check in", can´t find a command that says "upload") nothing happens... it might be the problem that i always had objects listet twice on my synchro-svn-client (not at my desktop-folder though) since i deleted the existing ones (like in this case the fish1-folder for example) and replaced it with my files... then i started synchro and tried to upload my folder and to replace the old ones in the repository... after that only the old folder with the old content was still in the repository and i now had this folder listed twice in my copy, one with the new content in it and one with the old ... as said, i don´t get what synchro is actually doing...

You have to delete the file through the svn first and commit the deletion, you can't just do a normal deletion from your local folder. To add a file, you need to add it to version control before commiting it to the svn.
I don't know how to do this on a Mac, sorry.
KenH
Jul 12 2008, 05:31 PM
In fact I don't believe you need to delete anything. Just save as your new fish model over the old ones. This will cause svn to see they've been altered. Then you just commit/upload the changes. I do this from the root svn folder in windows. That way anything I've changed and even new content, is caught by svn. Same for update/downloading.
"Check in" sounds like adding it to svn. If it's already there, it doesn't need to be added again......just uploaded.
SubVersioN Control allows you to save versions of a model (for example) in the one file.
Well, it creates that illusion. In reality, there are lots of hidden folders storing the extra content.

Thanks for the files Sebastion. I made a small mistake in naming the fish. Your fish are "Fish2" and "Fish3". Nancy did "Fish1".
Not to worry though, I'll upload them to the right folders on svn.
I wish I could help with your SVN troubles, but I have never used Syncro SVN and I don't own a Mac .... so I'm not sure what I can do.
As KenH said, "Check In" sounds like it might mean "Add file to svn version control".
For uploading your changes, is there a menu item named "Commit"? In TortoiseSVN, that is the command to use when you want to upload your changes.

OK, I added your fish to the "Fish2" and "Fish3" folders on svn.
Would you be interested in rigging "Fish1"?
I really like the way you rigged the other fish

On the topic of Fishes - I think they're fantastic!
On the topic of SVN:
Here is a link to the Syncro svn client web page
Synchronize (the bottom half of the page) that may shed some light on the problem. Also a video of working with the svn client
Svn client .
What I got from the above links that may prove useful (if you haven't already gotten it to work):
Once you change something in your local folder/file structure and want to upload it, you should:
-it's not shown in the demo , but it looks like it synchronizes from what ever folder/file is selected (in the local copy) on down.
-select the folder branch you want to update (or the top folder in the SVN structure on the Working Copy).
-click the Synchronize Icon above the Working Copy (looks like a gold cylinder with a red arrow out and a blue arrow in)
-you should get the synchronize results in the window (your files that you changed should be displayed there)
-as long as there is no conflict (some changes to the files you worked on were changed on the repository by others and they beat you to the upload

)
-Right click (what ever the MAC equivalent is - Shift Click?) and select Commit from the menu.
Let me know if this was of any use.

thanks guys...

holmes, i´d love to do some animation, even though i got a lot of work to do the next few weeks, my business-partner is on vacation so i gotta work for two...

so it would be better to start with a small one

.... feel free to assign me to a task...
HomeSlice
Aug 19 2008, 11:53 AM
Assignments are on a two week timer. You don't have to finish an assignment in two weeks, but you should upload your progress to svn every two weeks ( preferably more often than that) so we know the task is still actively being worked on.
Can you upload something within two weeks? Or do you want to wait until your partner gets back?

Hey Sebastian, can you post something in the SO General forum about how to use SVN on a MAC?
(When you have some free time - he he)
What program are you using?
What are the steps to download from our svn repository?
What are the steps to upload to our svn repository?
I haven't been able to help the Mac folks much. I'm sure any information you give would be much appreciated.

i´ll try to put something together.... thing is that i´m using an svn client software that is not for free... called synchro svn client, it´s 59,- bucks...
but i didn´t buy it yet anyway, you can request test-licence keys multiple times i figured out

i also found one for free yesterday, i´ll try to figure that one out the next days, maybe that will be the better solution...
