Full Version: Bucket of Water

I'm claiming this model.

Considerations:
- How adequate is Nimmie Amee's bucket from TWO? Can it/should it be used?
- Size must be adequate for Cap'n Bill as a grasshopper to wrap his arms around it and carry it a short distance.
- Some special effects (water inside) might be worked into the bucket itself.

Research:
- How will the bucket be used in SO?

Worse case scenario:
- Use Nimmie Amee's bucket from TWO.

A quick look at the script reveals:

2_17_22
GRASSHOPPER spies a BUCKET OF WATER and flies over to lift it by its handle. It is obviously very heavy, swinging back and forth while Grasshopper flies with it, with water sloshing over the sides.

2_17_23
GOOGLY GOO swipes at GRASSHOPPER, causing him to lose control of the BUCKET.

2_17_24
GRASSHOPPER flies jerkily forward a ways more but then loses hold of the BUCKET altogether.

2_17_25
Water from the BUCKET falls directly onto TIN WOODMAN.

2_17_26
GRASSHOPPER tries to recapture the bucket but is trapped underneath as it upturns on the ground.

Well... I modeled and partially textured a wood bucket but unfortunately I did it on an isolated computer.
Now to get it transferred to a computer with internet access.
(Gah! I really need to get all my computers set up again. This is painful.)

Hope to have it uploaded soon.

Throw it on a flash drive!

I would if I could.
It seems the location of my flash drives is in at (so that I wouldn't forget where they are)

Do what Hollywood executives do to save their e-mails. They get their secretary to shoot the screen with a Polaroid camera.
John Bigboote
That's a great idea...gotta get me a Polaroid...and a secretary!

Nimmee's Bucket will probably be your best bet. But if you want to make another one, go for it.
I'm glad you are thinking about ways to get water to flow out of the bucket onto TinMan's head. That will be the most challenging part.

How's that bucket coming Rodney?
Rodney
The wood bucket has been done for awhile now but I still haven't managed to get it transferred to a computer with internet access.
I will soon (3 day weekend coming up!)

I want to use that computer more (its running XP and A:M really works great) but the computer itself is not in the best of shape. Things that should work... that worked before I moved... (USB ports, network etc) don't want to work now at all.

Its silly that I've been dragging my feet on uploading such a simple bucket for so long.
It seems that in almost every project I'm involved with the last 20% of any job is where I stumble.
I hope to address that deficit in the future.

Thanks for being patient with me.

How's that bucket coming Rodney? We really need something up on svn. If you are having trouble, you can just upload a zip file to this forum thread and I will add it to svn.

The problem was that I couldn't get the files off of that computer to get it onto the internet.
So the zip file upload to the forum wouldn't change any of that.

But all of that should be old news as of today.
I dug out my external harddrive and will use it to transfer the files over.
Look for the bucket... with a simple texture... to be uploaded today.

Awesome! Thanks Rodney smile.gif

Here's a pic of the two buckets as they are right now on SVN.
The handles aren't rigged yet but thats a simple fix.
Textures are temporary.

There are several considerations here with regard to the bucket.
It will be seen close up on top of Cap'n Bill as a grasshopper. (Need to double check size on that)
Will Bill be able to peer out from under the bucket? Perhaps we'll be able to see his eyes from a knot hole in the wood?
Will rigging need to accomodate rolling on the ground?
What do we make of the water that fills and splashes out of the bucket?

So much to think about from such a simple bucket no?

But as of this moment at least we have two buckets.

Those are nice looking buckets Rodney. Thanks for getting them up on svn. smile.gif
