It's been a while since we completed "Tin Woodman of Oz" (TWO), so we thought we'd start another group project, "Scarecrow of Oz" (SO).
We learned a lot from TWO, which we're going to try and incorporate into SO. One of the things we learned was to keep the project low key: no pressure, no money, no publicity. This forum area will be about the extent of our energy.
However, it is FUN to have something real to animate on, and we're all a good bunch of people who love making movies just for the FUN of it, so if you want to get involved, just say so.
You can read the script (attached) to get an idea of the story. (There's already been 6 months of preproduction - this is simply the first public visibility of the project)

Is this the same script that's on the website (the same script you sent me) ??
Edit 7/08/08 - as of today, the link above is officially obsolete. If you want to download a copy of the script, please use the one on svn under data/Script/

Here's a comparison of the two showing mostly minor updates (some sequence label changes) etc.

I think Bumpy Man sings a little ditty somewhere in the script, but I don't remember any other songs.

Don't know who all is scheduled for what voices. Martin is probably the only one who has a complete list.

Hi gang,
I just joined the SO project, so I'm looking to get my feet wet a bit. Other than getting the SVN data (I'll do that tonight), where do you suggest I start getting familiar with the project? Reading the screenplay seems a likely candidate at this point!
Nice to be here!

You can go through the SO forum and if you see something you would like to try just ask. Homeslice has a Status report posted here
http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?s=&am...st&p=273328of tasks that are done and what is still left to do take a look at that. You can also tell us what your skills are modeling? rigging? (we need this big time) texturing, Animation (not ready for that yet).

I just grabbed the contents of the SVN repository and I'm reading the script right now. (Looks like a great story! Kudos to the script writers.) I'm still learning a lot about the software and animation, but I'm willing to tackle anything, if you'll be patient with me.

I'll read the SO forums to get up to speed and chime in once I have an idea where everything is at.

Brautigan the Balloonist is available... AND he has a song. Send me a test recording, Mark.

The script that is linked here is out of date or something. I came here a couple of times to read the script and was surprised to see that the links were not linking to the lastest version.
Here's where the latest version in txt format is:
