Here's my first animation on SO. It's Bill's walk cycle. I was trying to get a little asymmetry with the peg leg. (Not sure what's up with the shadow.)

Wow Ken, he's up and walking!
I would be inclined to throw the stump out even further so that it comes down where the heel would hit on the walk cycle. Also i would shift his weight even further onto his left leg/stump - really exaggerate it

I think there may be something up with the weighting on the chest - the top three buttons all seem to move together with the shoulders. I think it should be a little more gradual than that.

Course thats just my 2e worth - feel free to ignore it. wink.gif

That's what I wasn't sure of. Does a person try to keep the weight on the peg leg or the good leg? I thought the good leg.

Yeah, there's some stomach weighting issues.

Great start. He looks a bit stiff though. I know you probably wanted him to appear a little stiff, but it's distracting to me.
Also, the peg leg doesn't have to conform to real-world physics, it just has to be within the envelope of "acceptability" or "believability".
It might be neat if he were a little more expressive with his peg leg.
In a happy walk, the leg struts about with more flexibility and "life".
In a tired walk, the peg leg is kind of droopy and less responsive.
In an angry walk, it stomps down hard.
etc...

looking good... just walked through my living room trying to simulate a stiff leg and i think he has to swagger much more with his torso... i would suggest to put more weight on his good foot and swing the peg a bit to the left as it comes forward so it forms more of an arc viewed from the top... also he has to lean a bit to the right i think...

I agree. I think I modified it a while back. I'll check it when I get back into animating mode.
