i have gone through the process and I am at the final step. When do I reset all the compensates? After exporting the model and before deletion of the install poses?

After you finish the installation Poses, export the Action as a re-named model, open the new model, delete the installation Poses, import the "FINAL_IMPORT" model into the new model, save the updated new model as a safety, run the InstallRig plugin and then reset the compensates.
