Full Version: Laptop Websubscribed! :)

I just websubscribed my laptop (running Windows Vista) to v15 websubscription and thought I'd post a report.

From start to finish the entire purchase, install and validation process took less approximately 10 minutes.
It would have taken less time but I stumbled at the following steps:

1. Always fill out the ordering form *completely*. (I left important information out the first time)

2. It wasn't immediately apparent where I needed to go to download the Websubscription Installer. (I knew... so easily tracked it down but others might not. Perhaps I just missed it but a link to the Latest Info forum area might be useful)

3. My laptop seemed to lose its internet connection for a few seconds during validation. A:M said 'internet connection not available'. This only delayed me seconds as when I launched A:M again it connected and validated immediately.

And... thats about it. I'm ready to take A:M v15 on the road.

I have one regret:
I should have thought to screen capture the whole process to share with others.
My original plan was to websubscribe my laptop in another month or two but the need compeled me this morning.
Ah well... I'll try to remember that next time.

Until then... happy splining. smile.gif

Of special interest to some: I am experiencing absolutely no video card problems with A:M in Vista on my laptop. smile.gif

Thanks Hash for making the subscription such an easy process.

If this is true, it's surprising. Understandably, new users (and sometimes old) need everything shoved in their faces. You can never make anything too clear. Maybe even a link to the FAQ thread if it's not there.
I noticed a similar thing in the latest 3D World write up. There was no link to find out more about TWO. Though there was a link to the Scarecrow song on Youtube.

Doesn't it need internet access to run?
nixie
Internet access is only required for the initial install/registration.

What Nixie said. You only need the internet for the validation process.

Also... an update to the subject of getting a link to the installer.
I recieved an email that had information and links that did exactly that.
I was heading out the door at the moment and I didn't see the email until the next day.

Long story short.... Hash Inc has that angle covered.
The email makes it very obvious where you go to install A:M. smile.gif
