Full Version: Aim At Constraint Failing?

I've been running into something strange here and could use a validation.
I have been trying to create a simple 'Aim At' Constraint on a Camera and it won't take.
It says its assigned but doesn't constrain.

After failing with a Camera I tried a couple simple Bones with the same result.
The 'Aim At' Constraint didn't constrain.

I'll restart my computer a bit later and perhaps all will be well but for now... I'm stumped.
I've never had this happen before.

Are there any other constraints involved that may be 'trumping' the aim-at?

No. I tested with the most basic stuff in a file.

I do have an update though.
It appears that this problem is related to Cameras inside Models.
Once that fails then it seems to cause problems with regular Bones as well.

Try this (If you have time and are willing):

Create a Model
Right Click and Create a New Camera inside the Model
Drop the Model into a Chor
Add a Null or other Object for the Camera to Aim at
Add an 'Aim At' Constaint to the Camera to point it at the Null
Observe the results.

I'm in 15a websubscription here.

Didn't try a null but here is the camera aiming at model and another model aiming at same model 15a web

tried null worked

Thanks John (and Matt!) I appreciate your time.

I think the key area of contention is with Cameras that are -inside- models.
I'll have to reproduce the additional problem I had with regular Bones as well but notice that if I start with a fresh project after restarting A:M and -don't- mess with Models inside cameras I don't have other contraint issues.

Too tired tonight to draft up an A:M Report on the Camera in Model thing but I suspect that's the next step.
