Hi Thimoty,

You don't have to export the model from within 3DPainter.

- If your model already has decals, you can simply open the model in 3DPainter and paint. If you click the 'Save' button, 3DPainter will save all image files (jpg, tga...).
- If your model does not yet have decals, you should open 3DPainter from within A:M (right-click inside model window and select Plugins->3DPainter). Then click the decal tiles button to add a decal and start painting. Save the images and close 3DPainter. A:M will now add the decal (ie. the 'UV mapping) to your model (you should see it appear in the Project Workspace at the left of your A:M user interface). If you click 'Save' in A:M, your .mdl file will be saved with the decal.

Best regards,
Filip

Hi Thimoty,

I've had a look at your mdl file and the problem is in your decal stamp. Multiple patches overlap in the decal. This causes artifacts as different points on your ball refer to the same pixel on the image.

This is what your stamp looks like:

Using the spherical decal mapping in A:M, you can obtain this stamp for your ball:

Or using the tiles-based automapping in 3DPainter, you can obtain this stamp:

These last two will not give the problems you have as they don't have any overlapping patches.

So, you should make a decal stamp in A:M that doesn't have overlapping patches or use the automapping in 3DPainter instead.

Best regards,
Filip

Hi well I thought I had it figured out its still doing the same thing.

I made a decal in Animation Master v15 and pasted it on all different views I save the project and exit out
of AM then I open up 3d Paint and open the model I click on front view then I click on Start Projection Paint
I paint the model then I click Accept button it becomes distorted again. I click save then exit out 3d Paint
and open the model in AM and render it its still the same.

Here two pics of what I talking about In am v15 I can't copy and past the htx file where it will open AM plug in.

You're probably still making the same error in having overlapping patches in your decals. Could you post a screenshot of the UV editor (right-click on the decal in A:M and select 'Edit')? Your decal has 7 stamps, which looks a bit suspicious to me.

Did you try the automatic decal mapping in 3DPainter? That would avoid your problem.
