If you have the Web Activated version of AM, when you click on Help->Help Topics, you get a dialog box with a link to download "Tutorials and Documentation".
Click on that link.
You will be redirected to a page with a link to download "Windows Help File". This is a .chm help file which includes both the Technical Reference and TAO:AM (in pdf Adobe Acrobat format).
Click on the link and you will begin downloading a hefty (@35MB) zip file.
Unzip the file somewhere (There is only one file in the zip so you don't have to worry about creating a new folder for it). In this example, I'll use "C:\Program Files\Hash Inc"
The unzipped file is named master.chm.
Open AM
Go to Tools ->Customize -> Tools (click on the Tools tab in the Customize dialog box)
Click on the button labeled "Add"
For "Menu Text", type "Help File".
For "Command", type "C:\WINDOWS\hh.exe" (without the quotes)
For "Argument", type "C:\Program Files\Hash Inc\master.chm" (without the quotes)
For "Initial Directory", type "C:\Program Files\Hash Inc\" (without the quotes)
Click "OK" to save your changes and close the Custom dialog window.
Now click on Tools (in the menu bar at the top of the program window)
You will see a new menu entry named "Help File".
Click on that and an HTML Help window will pop up.
In the LEFT pane of the window, are links for
"Getting Started"
"The Art of Animation Master"
"Technical Reference".
"Getting Started" takes you to an external web page. The other two are pdf files which are included in the master.chm help file.
Click on "Technical Reference".
A Dialog will pop up asking you if you want to Open or Download the file.
Choose "Open".
This will launch the default program on your computer that opens PDF files and you will be able to peruse the Technical Reference.
For a free lightweight PDF reader that doesn't take ages to load (unlike Adobe's Acrobat Reader) you might try Sumatra
